Rating Every Barbie Movie

This is the page where I rate every Barbie movie (except for the ones I haven't seen) (Will watch them eventually and then add them here)

Barbie in the Nutcracker (2001) - 6/10

This movie is a major comfort movie for me. I own it on DVD and watched it a lot as a kid, especially around Christmastime. It's the first ever Barbie movie, which doesn't really mean anything but gives it some extra value to me. I'll be honest, the plot drags a lot and some of the characters/sequences scared me as a kid... Some parts of the movie I was very confused by or just completely tuned out during. I have rewatched it a couple of times as an adult and admittedly nothing has changed on my part. Honestly I mostly just like the parts that take place in the house at the beginning and end... The entire fairytale in the middle just never captured my interest. It's definitely not the greatest movie, but hey! It's the first Barbie movie. Which DOES count for something.

Barbie as Rapunzel (2002) - 8/10

This one is a classic. Yes it has the horny weasel in it, that's weird, but hey it's otherwise a really cute movie. I love how it starts with the credits, even though that sequence kind of looks like a fancy Prezi presentation. It's super fun. Love the sidekicks, Penelope is so cute and the rocky relationship with her dad is in my opinion a really interesting thing for a Barbie movie to tackle. I can't remember the rabbit's name but I like him too. Like I get him. The ending is sick as hell, I LOVE when siblings are mortal enemies but ultimately come together in the end to defeat a greater evil. So much fun. Overall a great Barbie movie, not THE best but one of the better ones in my opinion.
